Cutlery Care

STAINLESS STEEL CUTLERY

All Venetto Design stainless steel cutlery is dishwasher safe for everyday convenience. With proper care, your cutlery will maintain its beautiful finish and exceptional performance for years to come. To preserve its quality, we recommend the following:

  • Rinse your cutlery shortly after use to prevent food residue from drying on the surface. Acidic or salty foods such as vinegar, mustard, mayonnaise, and salt can affect stainless steel if left for extended periods.
  • Place each piece in the dishwasher's cutlery basket with the handle facing downward.
  • Use dishwasher detergent according to the manufacturer's recommended dosage.
  • Wash stainless steel cutlery separately from aluminum or copper items.
  • Avoid detergents containing lemon additives, bleach, chlorides, or anti-limescale agents, as they may damage the finish.
  • Open the dishwasher promptly once the wash cycle has finished.
  • Dry each piece with a soft cloth to help prevent water spots.
  • Hand washing is always the gentlest option and helps preserve the finish over time.
  • Do not wash stainless steel cutlery with non-stainless steel utensils, as surface rust (also known as flash rust) may transfer.

PVD (COLORED) CUTLERY

For colored cutlery with a PVD finish, hand washing is recommended. Although durable, gentle hand washing helps preserve the coating's rich color and polished appearance for years to come.

BAMBOO HANDLE CUTLERY

Our bamboo handles are crafted from natural bamboo, making each piece unique. To keep them in excellent condition:

  • Do not leave bamboo handles soaking in water or exposed to prolonged moisture, as this may cause swelling or slight deformation over time.
  • Dry the handles thoroughly after washing.
  • When air drying, place the cutlery upside down so the stainless steel end faces downward. This helps prevent water from collecting around the bamboo handle and promotes faster drying.

POLISHING AND REMOVING STAINS

Occasionally, dishwasher use may leave water spots on stainless steel surfaces. Surface rust (flash rust) can also transfer from other kitchen utensils or cookware. These are cosmetic only and can be removed easily.

Water Spots

Rinse the cutlery under warm water, then dry and polish with a soft, lint-free cloth until the surface regains its shine.

Flash Rust

Apply a small amount of stainless steel polish to a soft cloth and gently rub the affected area until the stain disappears. Rinse thoroughly under clean running water and dry immediately with a soft towel.
